Zhenru Liang (1994, China) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the intersection between urban structures and the planet’s primary memory. Through drawing, installation, and other visual languages, she investigates how natural and built environments shape collective and individual memory. Liang currently lives and works between Berlin and Milan.
She holds a Master’s degree in Visual Arts from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. Since January 2025, she has been a Visiting Professor at the Brera Academy in Milan and is currently as researcher at the “Art in Context” Institute at the Berlin University of the Arts.
Her work has been featured in collective projects at the Venice Biennale in 2022, 2023, and 2025, as well as in the Biennale’s Poetry Session in 2024. She has participated in numerous international programs and artist residencies in Berlin, Athens, Girona, the Balearic Islands, Prague, Rome, and Sicily. She is also the co-founder of the former Milan-based artistic association Forme, and has been actively involved in a wide range of artistic exhibitions and initiatives.
She is responsible of studio AIR , for projects in the East.
